Producer’s comment:
The second of (last) week’s triple bill of episodes. Sorry I didn’t get it out earlier, it’s been a busy week for me. My voice seems to have given up a little so in this episode I’ve not made too much of an effort to do different voices. And please don’t ask how many takes it took to complete…

Cat & Cthulhu – Episode 21 "Take it to 23!"

So what happens in this issue?
Cat, Cthulhu and Marvin delve into the Master’s audio collection, with somewhat depressing results. Not that you’d notice Marvin being more depressed or anything.

Producer’s comment:
Today’s episode is read by none other than Tim Ralphs, who first/last appeared as a guest reader in Episode 3 – “In The Words of Obi-Wan”. You can find more of him over at Where The Wire Things Are. Many thanks again to Tim for contributing. By the way – if you’d like to become involved with the project, for example a guest reader, then drop us a line at archimedesuk [at] gmail [dot] com.

Cat & Cthulhu – Episode 20 "Pirates of Neo-Tokyo"

So what happens in this issue?
Cat and Cthulhu settle down to watch their new favourite Anime, much to Marvin’s despair. A Great Old One dancing to an anime’s theme tune? How embarrassing.

Author’s comment:
I pulled the animé from my ass. It doesn’t exist. If
it does I’d really like to know. I have to say this because Richard,
the producer asked me if it was a real show. I had to say no. Some
context for this issue. Well things had picked up a little mood wise.
I’d been to see “Pirates of the Caribbean 3″ the night before. It
wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t great either. So I had pirates on the brain.
But it had to be space pirates. Because that’s far more heavy metal.
What else? Well there are some jokes that comment rather poorly
on animé cliches.

Producer’s comment:
Episode 20! I never thought I’d reach this far. Hope you enjoy this latest podcast and stay tuned for a possible bonus feature later this week!

Cat & Cthulhu – Episode 19 "Survival"

So what happens in this issue?
Cat and Cthulhu discuss the essentials of life and what Cthulhu actually wants with humanity’s souls.

Author’s comment:
Contrast this episode with the previous two. Things
have changed. Gone to the opposing mood. Horrible and low. Got the
idea for this issue while walking in front of theRathaus is Basel one
lunchtime. I’m not sure what the aim of this issue is entirely. My
personal notes for this period of time start to become more and more
fragmented.

I’m not even sure how I’d answer this question seriously. For me this
episodes seems to be almost reaching some level of personal truth and
admission. But in the end pulls away from answering a hard question or
making a hard point about something. But it was written many months
ago. Without questioning a few people about my behaviour from then
there is no way I can make definitive statements about this issue.
Besides, would they even remember my behaviour from that long ago?

Producer’s comment:
I re-recorded the intro and credits this week, and I’ve finally managed to get rid of that ‘wibbly’ sound – an artefact left by noise removal. I’ve got a guest reader lined up for episode 20, due the end of this week. In the meantime please enjoy this latest offering. :)

Cat & Cthulhu – Episode 18 "The Common Sense Of Cthulhu"

So what happens in this issue?
Cat explores the Citadel but is distrurbed by what he finds. So much so that when he finally comes around he is in the presence of an old friend.

Author’s comment:
Leaving off where the story discussion was going. This
is the final episode of the storyline. Yes Cat does find Cthulhu.
There is a punchline. I enjoyed writing this episode. It might be
partially for the person reasons that I discuss in the next paragraph.
But it was a fun experiment doing a internally consistent set of
issues. I might return to the experiment another time.

Right! The personal stuff. Well as I said in the previous episodes
comment that week was a crazy week. We had lots of days off work for
some reason. I spent most of those days with Susan and Hayley, who
worked for a company similar to the one I worked for. Although in
areas of hard science, rather then my wussy IT job. Anyhow the
previous day to writing this I’d gone toEngelberg on the train with
the two of them. We tried a spot of Via Ferrata . It wasn’t what Susan
had expected. It was all rather scary. Awesome good fun though.
Probably one of the best weekends of my time spent in Switzerland.

Producer’s comment:
I didn’t bother with the noise removal in this episode since it’s pretty negliable. Besides the slight static reminds me of the waves of the Pacific… ;)
